ON THE ROAD - Transportation is up and running!
Our new 14 passanger VAN with wheelchair lift went into service on Tuesday January 5, 2010 thanks to the generosity of Stoneham taxpayers, Stoneham Ford and Stoneham Bank. We are most grateful to all of you!
Carpooling
Let's Do Lunch
We are asking those who have their own vehicles to consider offering friends or neighbors a ride to enjoy lunch at the Senior Center. This small gesture goes a long way toward making Stoneham a Senior Friendly Community and for helping the environment!
If you prefer not to carpool, you can take our new 14 passanger van on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The other three days, Monday, Tuesday and Friday, you will need to take THE RIDE.
Medical Appointments
We are so fortunate to Joyce, Don and Roger, our dedicated volunteers, who provides medical transportation. Rides are availalbe to all doctors' offices in Stoneham, Winchester, Melrose and Wakefield. Rides are also available to the Reading Health Center and Baldwin Park I & II in Woburn, the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, and the Winchester Hospital.
A week and a half notice (8 business days) is required. Call Sandy Kirby at 781-438-1157 to schedule a ride.
Cheap Eats
Our Tuesday "escape for lunch" is available again. Cost is $3. Bring a friend.
